Circular Motion - ICSE Class 10

🌈 Circular Motion – ICSE Class 10

🔴 Uniform Circular Motion
When a body moves along a circular path with constant speed, the motion is called uniform circular motion.
🟠 Non-Uniform Motion
Even if speed is constant, direction changes continuously, so motion becomes non-uniform.
🟡 Velocity in Circular Motion
Velocity changes because direction changes at every point of the circular path.
🟢 Acceleration
The acceleration acting towards the center is called centripetal acceleration.
🔵 Centripetal Force
Force acting towards the center keeps the body moving in a circle. Examples: Earth around Sun, Moon around Earth.
🟣 Centrifugal Force
The outward apparent force felt during circular motion is called centrifugal force. Example: Feeling pushed outward in a turning car.
⚫ Daily Life Examples
Fan rotation, merry-go-round, satellites, planets, racing tracks.

❤️ Circular Motion and Indian Joint Family

In a happy Indian joint family, members stay connected with love, care and respect just like planets remain connected with the Sun through gravitational force.

The Sun gives energy and keeps planets moving in balance. Similarly, grandparents and parents guide the family with wisdom and affection.

Just as the Moon revolves around Earth and never leaves its path, family members support each other during happiness and difficulties.

Centripetal force keeps planets together. In the same way, love, respect, unity and caring keep a family strong and united.

Science teaches us not only motion but also values of balance, discipline and relationships.

📝 MCQ Quiz

1. Motion in a circular path with constant speed is called:

2. In circular motion, velocity changes because:

3. Force acting towards center is:

4. Earth revolves around:

5. Outward apparent force is called:

6. Moon revolves around:

7. Which value keeps family united like centripetal force?

🧠 HOTS Questions

1. Why does a satellite not fall on Earth?

Because centripetal force due to gravity keeps it moving in orbit.

2. Why do passengers feel pushed outward in a turning bus?

Due to centrifugal effect during circular motion.

3. Why is circular motion called accelerated motion even at constant speed?

Because direction of velocity changes continuously.

4. How does the Sun help maintain planetary motion?

The Sun’s gravitational force acts as centripetal force.

5. What family value can we learn from planets staying in orbit?

Unity, discipline, love and respect keep relationships balanced.
