computer consists of five  main parts input, memory, arithmetic logic unit (ALU), output and control unit.

 First Generation (1940-1956) - use of vacuum tubes

Second Generation (1956-1963) - use of transistors 

Third Generation (1964-1971)- use of integrated circuits 

Fourth Generation (1971-2010) - Microprocessor 

Fifth Generation (Present Day)- Artificial intelligence.

■ The computers of fifth-generation use artificial intelligence technology which understand human language too, includes: Development of expert systems, Game Playing, Robotics .
