Conductors and insulators: Substances which allow electricity to flow through them is called conductors. Examples: all metals, human body and impure water.

Substances which do not allow electricity to flow through them is called insulators. Examples: rubber, ebonite, wood etc.

Circuit: The path along with electricity flows.

When an electric path is complete is called closed circuit and the path with a break is called open circuit.

Series and Parallel connection 

Series connection- All appliances work together. If one appliance does not work , other also will not work.
