    S Subtract 21 from 70 = 70 - 21 = 49

    The number is 49.

    13. Evaluate:

    (i) 8% of 900 - 12% of 750 + 20% of 165:

     8% of 900 = 900 x 0.08 = 72

     12% of 750 = 750 x 0.12 = 90

     20% of 165 = 165 x 0.2 = 33

    Number = 72 - 90 +33= -18 + 33 = 15

    (ii) 70% of 70 + 90% of 90 - 120% of 120:

    S 70% of 70 = 70 x 0.7 = 49

    90% of 90 = 90 x 0.9 = 81

    120% of 120 = 120 x 1.2 = 144

    Add 49 and 81 = 49 + 81 = 130

    Subtract 144 from 130 = 130 - 144 = -14

    The result is -14.
