Reflection of light
● Bouncing back of light rays after hitting any surface is called reflection of light
● There are two laws of reflection :-
1 the angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection
2. incident ray reflected ray and normal drawn at the point of incidence to the reflecting surface lie on the same plane
● Nature of images formed by - i) plane mirror:- Erect , virtual , same size , same distance from mirror and laterally inverted
ii) concave mirror :- nature of image depends upon position of an object. It forms both types of images real - inverted / erect- virtual
iii) convex image always forms erect- virtual and small images.
● curved mirrors as converging and as doverging mirrors.

● To identify types of Mirrors:-
Bring Mirrors one by one close to your face –
1. If image of your face is bigger in size, concave mirror
2. If image of your face small in size, convex mirror
3. If image of your face is of same size , plane mirror
● Uses of Mirrors:-
1. Plane mirror is used as dressing mirror
2. Plane mirror is used in solar cooker, periscope, kaleidoscope etc
3. Concave mirror is used as a shaving mirror, makeup mirror
4. Concave mirror is used by dentists
5. Convex mirror is used as rear view mirror
6. Convex mirror is used as vigilance mirror
